She was born in Pensacola, Florida. Carmen was adopted by her mother, along with her five other siblings. From a young age, she enjoyed preparing meals for her family.

However, in 2001 she met with a tragic accident. The doctors said that it would be difficult for her to walk again. But Carmen didn’t lose hope and recovered completely from the damage.
Moreover, after some time, she met her business partner Corinna Jones who later on became the CEO of the company. Together they start growing the company by using various different strategies.
In 2012, Carmen started her own custom IGOTCHU Seasoning line through which she sells many things, including lemonade, cookbooks, single seasonings, fried chicken coating, and much more.
